Jazbaa: Tanu Weds Manu producer Vinod Bachchan had sent a legal notice to Sanjay Gupta demanding Rs 50 lakh that he had paid the director as remuneration for a film that did not take off. However, when Gupta went ahead and started Jazbaa with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vinod claimed that he was paid to work for Jazbaa and therefore should be credited as producer. He had titled his script Farmayish.

According to reports, the actor told Mumbai Mirror, “I spent two-and-a-half years nurturing this script. It’s my story and was to be the debut production, made under my banner Raw Stock Production Private Limited”. As far as the big guns are concerned, neither Hrithik nor Rakesh Roshan has confirmed anything about going ahead with the film. He tied up with Sanjay Gupta-Balaji Telefilms but when Hrithik was approached for the lead role, Rakesh Roshan “heard the script, he made it clear that the film would be presented and produced under his banner FilmKRAFT Productions”, he said. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde as lead couple for this movie actor Sudhanshu Pandey has gone to court stating his story was used by the makers without any one’s permission. “This was not acceptable to me and I walked out”, he informed. However, the project has been stalled after the legal notice issued by the Pandey. Since then, both the filmmakers have stopped taking his calls and so he has filed a complaint with the Indian Film and Television Producers Council (IFTPC) on November 28 claiming sole and exclusive intellectual property right, including copyright ownership on the script.
From quite some time there are rumors doing rounds regarding, Hrithik and Sanjay Gupta’s upcoming venture.

With this new twist, the script in question does not belong to Sudhanshu Pandey and this has been verified by the Film Writer’s Association as well as Siraj Ahmed under whose name the script was registered the second time round.
