The Green Bay Packers won in thrilling fashion Thursday night when they beat the Detroit Lions, 27-23, on a Hail Mary with no time left in the game.
On Thursday, after a questionable face mask flag gave the Packers one last play, the Lions were stunned when Aaron Rodgers connected with Richard Rodgers on a 61-yard Hail Mary to turn sure victory into sudden death in Detroit.
“Outside of the Super Bowl (title in the 2010 season), to me, that’s our greatest regular-season win”, said McCarthy, who’s in his 10th year as Green Bay’s coach. It left many Lions speechless, talking in short sentences trying to piece together what happened. There was no insane bounce, no pile of players fighting over the ball while falling to the ground.

You could see (wide receiver Randall Cobb) squared up and ready for the tip drill. It’s not really a play spend much time “drawing up” and the necessities in making it work are fairly obvious: You’ve got to have enough time for your receivers to get down the field, and you have to have enough under the ball to reach the end zone.
