UW- La Crosse shuts down part of campus for suspicious package
Parts of the campus is now being locked down by the Police and investigation to find any suspicious object is under way. Police blocked off part of the campus, and Angell, Drake, Hutch and Wentz residence halls were evacuated as a precaution.

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse evacuated some dormitories and other buildings while police investigate a suspicious suitcase.
Quarberg says the bomb squad arrived at 6 p.m. The all-clear was given about two hours later.
“We are taking precautionary measures to secure the area until the package can be managed”, the alert said.
UWL Police ask the community to stay clear of this area until we have an all clear message.
UW-L Police and local authorities are investigating a suspicious package found on campus.
UPDATE 1: Unconfirmed reports say the threat has been made around Hutchison Hall (aka Hutch) that is said to be housing over 300 residential students.
Mitchell Hall is the designated shelter area for people needing a place to go. Residence Hall students are being redirected for food service this evening and are being notified via all-hall emails. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this article here as and when more information becomes available.

As a result of the bomb suspicions, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse campus police have warned people to stay out of the area.
