DeMarco Murray Went To Eagles Owner To Complain About Chip Kelly

According to ESPN, Murray went so far as to meet with Eagles’ owner Jeffrey Lurie following that game to discuss his issues with head coach Chip Kelly’s offense. “Miles is a real team player and knows what we’re trying to get accomplished here”.

One could argue that Murray was also the only “winner” in this equation, considering his deal included $21 million guaranteed.

Kelly has not yet identified a starter at the position for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. “I think that’s the reality to it. There should be some joy in that for at least a few hours while we’re on our flight back to Providence to Philly”. “When you’ve got [Jamie Collins] and [Rob Ninkovich] and guys, it’s as big a linebacker crew as you’re going to face, so sometimes those smaller, quicker guys can cause some problems in the matchup”.

Coach Chip Kelly said Sunday that Sproles carried the ball so many times simply because he was the “hot hand”. Ryan Mathews has been hurt (again) and Darren Sproles is still more of a bit player than a weekly starting option. “Nothing’s set in stone, that you continue to show us that you could help us and be productive”. On the season, he has 75 carries for 427 yards (5.7 yards per carry). That has been beginning to form, as DeMarco Murray has been sitting more often. Murray has had some games that he looks like the old Murray and some that looks like he should be on the bench.

He rushed for 122 yards on 25 carries in a 51-14 win over the Lions in 2007. He made good work with Jordan Matthews and Zach Ertz while utilizing the versatility that Sproles brings to the field. “We are not trying to win a rushing championship, or a passing championship or a receiving championship or anything in that stretch of the imagination”. Krause played for the first time in his career and had one catch for four yards, the same number of receptions as Austin had in the previous three games.

It didn’t make a lot of sense at the time, and Murray’s season is why. “We’re going to do whatever we can do to win football games”.
