One of the biggest messages the president tried to communicate to the American people was that a fear of terrorist attacks must not translate into a fear of all Muslims and spark unnecessary targeting.

President Barack Obama has called for greater co-operation between technology companies in an effort to combat terrorism following the shooting in San Bernardino on 2 December. “The threat from terrorism is real, but we will overcome it. We will destroy ISIL and any other organization that tries to harm us”.
Mr Obama said that while there was no evidence the California killers were directed by a terror network overseas or part of a broader plot, “the two of them had gone down the dark path of radicalisation”.
US President Barack Obama, and Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton met for a secret lunch as they pursue tech industry over encryption, terror threats, it has emerged.
“The president’s political opponents are not going to be satisfied, and that’s OK”, Earnest said.
The Wisconsin Senator says he agreed in September of a year ago to back the President when he laid out and fully committed to an effective strategy to defeat ISIS. The FBI is investigating the massacre as a terrorist attack that, if proved, would be the deadliest by Islamic extremists on American soil since September 11, 2001. He once derisively dismissed the group as a terrorist junior varsity team, said before the Paris attacks that it was contained in Syria and Iraq, and as recently as last week said there weren’t credible known threats against the U.S.
The speech signaled how anxious the White House has become about the trajectory the war against the Islamic State, or ISIS, could take if a sense of widespread panic, turbocharged by election year politics, started shaping domestic and foreign policy.
Whoever decided the president should speak from the Oval Office made a mistake. He wants to appease the enemy, instead of making them know precisely the sovereignty of our nation. Several Republican presidential candidates and many governors are doing just that by portraying Muslims as inherently unsafe and endorsing draconian policies. We are at war with the violent Islam.
Donald Trump tweeted, “Is that all there is?”
HORSLEY: The president also renewed his call for stricter gun safety legislation.
In an appeal that is unlikely to move a strongly pro-gun US Congress, Mr Obama called for tighter gun laws to “make it harder” for terrorists to kill by being able to buy assault rifles. “To safeguard our own national security, we must step up the military fight against ISIS as soon as possible, but it will require sustained, long-term American engagement to resolve the deeper problems that have allowed ISIS to incubate and gather strength in Syria and Iraq”.

The world will now be watching and waiting to see if the “smarter” approach of Obama continues to trump those of his more hawkish critics. A Facebook official said the post came about the time the couple stormed the San Bernardino social services center.
