Kane extends point streak as Blackhawks beat Predators 4-1
G Corey Crawford stopped 10-plus shots in each of the periods and finished with 36 saves on 37 shots in a 4-1 win over the Predators. Benn recorded his four points in the opening two periods as Dallas built up a 5-1 lead, a lead that would evaporate in the third period.

Coach Joel Quenneville did not even try to dance around the issue.
“He was great”, he said. “Especially with the empty net we try to give him the puck and he can score and we get the apple”. We haven’t given up that kind of quality all year.
The Blackhawks are starting to get more balance among their lines. It’s the second straight contest in which the star forward has capitalized on an empty net opportunity to keep his historic streak alive after assisting on an Artemi Panarin ENG last time out.
Then came the Blackhawks’ third-period push beginning with Teravainen, who scored just 14 seconds into the third for a 3-1 lead. Andrew Shaw had a goal and an assist and defenseman David Rundblad tallied an assist in his first game since October 29.
The Predators cut it to 2-1 with 45.3 seconds remaining in the period when Nystrom drove to the net, slipped past two defenders and Roman Josi’s centering pass deflected in off Nystrom’s skate. “To me, it’s hard to feel good about yourself when you lose games, and it’s no different right now”. “I was still trying to look for the pass first but I had nothing, so I tried to shoot”.
“To be honest with you, I wasn’t thinking about it too much until you go out there in the end there and you hear the crowd cheering and you know they’re looking for something”, Kane said. “That’s when you kind of want to get something at the end”.
Jake Allen made 22 stops and Vladimir Tarasenko and Kevin Shattenkirk each had two points as the St. Louis Blues beat the Arizona Coyotes 4-1, snapping a three-game losing streak.
The Blackhawks are starting to gain some traction. Also, what people often times overlook is Kane’s line will be facing the toughest defensive paring Nashville has to offer-leaving a mores sparse defense up against Teravinen, Toews, and Hossa.

Honorable Mention: Nazem Kadri’s goal in the shootout gave the Toronto Maple Leafs the extra point in a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils. He is undoubtedly the most productive player from the 2007 draft and has taken leaps and bounds this year in point totals.
