Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi today visited flood hit regions of Rodiarpet, Shanmugha Nagar and Eechangadu localities of Puducherry and distributed relief materials on behalf of Pradesh Congress Committee. “Rahul carried his shoes throughout and he didn’t even let his security personnel carry them for him”.
Isolated heavy rain would occur over South Coastal Tamil Nadu and delta districts of North Coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. “I do not see anything wrong in it. I offered my chappal”, said Narayansamy.

“I would like to tell the Government of Tamil Nadu and Government of India that they need to do a lot more for the people of Tamil Nadu, they need to be much more responsive”. Narayanasamy, 68, was minister of state in Manmohan Singh’s office during UPA-2. “It’s very important that instead of doing politics at this time, we should make sure that people of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu are given relief”, he said while talking to reporters. Post his visit of Puducherry Gandhi also visited Chennai, with the city crippled by massive flooding after receiving record rainfall last week.
