The Teaser Trailer for Steven Spielberg’s The BFG Movie is Here!
That 1982 story followed a young orphan girl, Sophie, who meets a giant who calls himself Big Friendly Giant (BFG).

The first trailer for Disney and Steven Speilbergs’ live action version of The BFG has landed, and it’s giving us the chills.
In 1989, the literary classic was turned into a British made-for-television cartoon film, but this marks the first time we will see the story unfold on the silver screen with live actors. Bill Hader, Jemaine Clement, Michael David Adamthwaite, Daniel Bacon, Chris Gibbs, Adam Godley, Jonathan Holmes, Paul Moniz de Sa and Ólafur Ólaffson also star.
When the Giant picks up little girl Sophie, played by Ruby Barnhill, their subsequent friendship garners the attention of the less friendly and more meat eating giants.
Sophie enjoys adventures in Dream Country with the 24-feet tall giant who collects dreams and sends them to children.
Penelope Wilton will play the Queen of England and Rebecca Hall will star as Mary, the Queen’s maid. Other Dahl adaptations include 1990’s The Witches, 1996’s Matilda, 1996’s James and the Giant Peach, and the two versions of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory from 1971 and 2005. Sadly, it became the last script helmed by Mathison as she passed away on November 4th 2015 – thus, “The BFG” will be dedicated in her memory. Bringing together three of the finest storytellers in the business, the House of Mouse has peeled back the curtain – against the command of Mrs. Clonkers, mind you – to reveal the film’s very first teaser trailer.
There’s danger ahead for both of them along the way though as the violent giants target them, and they must come up with a way to defeat these monsters and save the children of the world.

The new film hits theaters on July 1st, 2016.
