There’s a catch, though, for those seeking to slake the unquenchable thirst of ’90s kid nostalgia: the new Crystal Pepsi won’t be in stores.
The marketer hinted at a comeback for the 1990s-era clear soda over the summer. A petition to revive the clear-colored soda drew more than 33,000 signatures earlier this year, but the company says Crystal Pepsi never went away in a tongue-in-cheek statement.
In 2007, Fast Company asked David Novak, who is now CEO of Yum Brands (KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell), about spearheading the Crystal fiasco when he was at Pepsi. That would imply that a new better executed launch could have different results, except Novak added in the interview, “It would have been nice if I’d made sure the product tasted good”.
The contest will take place on December 10 and 11 via the Pepsi Pass app. Pepsi will choose 13,000 winners to receive a six-pack 16-oz. bottles of the previously extinct. By the end of the year, the product was pulled out. Yes, that is all.
Crystal Pepsi is about to make a comeback for fans of the 90s throwback.

“Why did Crystal Pepsi only last from 1992 to 1993, you ask?”
