Cowboys special teams come up big on Monday night

But it was his receivers and Dallas’ bend-but-don’t-break defense that won this game for Dallas. “That’s what happens when the Cowboys win”. So it was of paramount important that they win tonight’s game over the Washington Redskins.

The problem is that it is hard to see the Giants (or any NFC East team) going on a winning streak to end the season.

“It didn’t surprise me at all to see them hit Jackson deep, with how much time we had left”, Jones said, via the team’s official website. “If we can go up [to Green Bay], our defense can put together a game like that, get more confidence in our offense, then here we go”.

But not only is Bailey one of the best players on his team, he is also easily the best kicker there is in the National Football League right now. This year he’s now done it twice – last week against the New York Giants and the unfortunate fumble against Dallas that set up a go-ahead touchdown in an eventual 19-16 loss. The Cowboys have dealt with major injuries to Romo and receiver Dez Bryant, who is now back, but no one envisioned 4-8 after they came a controversial Bryant non-catch from beating the Packers and advancing to the NFC title game last January.

“If somebody would have told me we’d be in first place, I’d have believed them”, veteran safety Malcolm Jenkins said. 500 – perhaps even with just six wins. Washington would not find the end zone until 44 seconds left in the game. The Cowboys defense smothered the Redskins for most of the game.

-RUSHING OFFENSE: D. Washington just can’t get this unit going.

But the adrenaline was flowing and McFadden scored on a 9-yard run.

As great as DLaw played, the real defensive star was Sean Lee. If a team was 12-0 and we were 11-1, it’s no different.

Despite its unsightly season, Dallas is only a game back in the NFC East, and the team owner/GM says, “The bottom line is ‘why not?'”

“We have everything to gain and everything to lose”, Bryant said. “You can point to a number of plays that really highlight how good a football player he is”. It goes to our preparation, getting healthy, taking care of our bodies, putting in the extra work. “We can win the division and that’s what matters”. “But I was being a playmaker and trying to make a play for my team, but it didn’t come out my way”. So we just haven’t been quite as efficient as we needed to be and cash in on the opportunities when we’ve had them.

With just 1:14 left in the game, Washington again took possession of the ball.

And while Jackson went on to catch a 28-yard touchdown pass on the ensuing drive as Washington tied the game at 16, there was a feeling after the game that the Redskins could have used him more.

Dallas’ Dan Bailey nailed one from 38 yards out, and the Redskins’ Dustin Hopkins was good from 45 for a 3-3 score at halftime.

Cousins added that while the frustration of not being able to take a full-game lead in the division is there, the entire team needs to employ a positive outlook for the final four regular season games. Save for what appears to be a fluke 200-yard performance against New Orleans, the Redskins struggle for every yard they get and have for weeks. In the game, Cowboys tight end Jason Witten eclipsed 1,000 catches for his career.
