Homeland, starring Emmy Award-winning Claire Danes, will return in 2016 for its sixth season, while The Affair will return for its third season, said network officials. Season-to-date, Homeland is averaging 5.5 million weekly viewers across platforms, while The Affair averages 3.8 million. The news is no surprise, as both series have shown strong numbers on their returns to television this season.
The Affair, meanwhile, stars Ruth Wilson, Dominic West, Joshua Jackson and Maura Tierney and added a third point of five to its storytelling narrative this season.
“Homeland”, which stars Claire Danes as mentally unstable intelligence agent Carrie Mathison, has lately seen the heroine and her boss, Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), trying to foil a terror plot in Germany.
This past Sunday’s “Homeland” drew a 0.63 adults 18-49 rating and 1.740 million total, live+same-day viewers.

The clear front runner for the awards was Netflix’s political drama House of Cards, which led the field with three nominations, for best actor (Kevin Spacey), best actress (Robin Wright) and best cast performance in a drama series.
