Donald Trump may be surging ahead of the other Republican hopefuls in recent polls, but back in August the presidential hopeful was experiencing some serious competition from a very unlikely contender.
TIME Donald Trump winces as a bald eagle flaps its wings near his head during a photoshoot for Time magazine.
Portrait photographer Martin Schoeller came up with the idea to capture the candidate with a bald eagle, thinking the American symbol would tie in nicely with Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again”. And to make things a tad more interesting, Trump was handed an eagle to pose with. In the photo released from the shoot, Trump sits focused at his desk while the eagle, patriotically named Uncle Sam, is perched nearby.
“How’s my hair look”, the former Apprentice star asked. Trump asks. “Not good”, the crew echoes from behind the camera. “What you will do for a cover”.
