Lynch, the former Northern Illinois star in his rookie season with Eskimos, scored on a third-down play in a 20-degree chill.

Late in the first half, Reilly connected with Akeem Shavers for another Edmonton touchdown.

Burris’s 93-yard TD strike to Greg Ellingson with just over a minute remaining earned the Redblacks a thrilling 35-28 home win over Hamilton in the East Division final, securing Ottawa its first Grey Cup berth since ’81.

Chambers had 49 receiving yards, including a 32-yard reception to help set up a touchdown, as the Eskimos beat the Ottawa Redblacks 26-20 in the CFL championship game.

The drive was aided by Edmonton head coach Chris Jones challenging an incompletion that was ultimately changed to pass interference against Ottawa’s Brandon Sermons. So then the clock starts, so I had to call time out and I said look at this, because it’s too big a situation.

Reilly also led the Eskimos in rushing with 66 yards.

“You know what previous year, when it was in BC, the room filled up and everyone was really busy”.

To make it this far after only two years in the CFL is a dream come true, he said.

Allowing teams to use their own balls on offence gives quarterbacks a chance to play with balls that are familiar to them, as long as they meet standards.

The six-point lead after the touchdown was enough for Edmonton in what had been an offensively challenging second half for both teams. Chris Milo added a convert, single and two field goals. Edmonton would get another single this one off the foot of punter Grant Shaw, Eskimos were now within one. Burris finished 22-of-29 passing with 220 yards and two TDs and an interception after registering a league-record 481 completions and CFL-high 5,703 yards.

“We will watch this over and over and over again this off-season and make sure we remember this”, Burris said.

By the time Desjardins hired Rick Campbell as head coach in December 2013, the team had been dubbed Redblacks and had a handful of employees in its football operations department, but it had only five players under contract. But we had ample opportunities to go down and put this game out of reach.
