Israel’s Netanyahu rejects Trump comments on Muslims

In comments yesterday, Trump demanded a full ban on all Muslims entering the United States for an indefinite amount of time, a call that has fueled condemnation the world over, and from all across the political spectrum. Biden said, adding he doesn’t think “there’s much chance” for Trump to win the election.

Trump, the leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, made the provocative remarks regarding Muslims after last week’s shooting that left 14 dead in California by a Muslim couple said to have been radicalised. “A racist like this has no place here among us”, Arab parliamentarian Issawi Frej of the dovish Meretz party told Israel Radio, the Associated Press reported. Netanyahu said he meets with all presidential candidates who visit his country, and the meeting does not represent an endorsement of Trump.

Nora said Trump’s comments are very troubling and make her feel unwelcome in the country she’s called her home her entire life.

The petition from the Scottish university accuses Trump of hate speech.

But it looked unlikely that the government of Prime Minister David Cameron would take that step.

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has also stripped Trump of his status as a business ambassador to Scotland, according to The Independent.

Even after a global backlash, Trump defended his comments, saying they were no worse than the actions of former President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who imprisoned over 110,000 people in government camps after the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. “The same principles should apply to everyone who wishes to enter the United Kingdom”, reads the petition.

Donald Trump is not backing down anytime soon.

“I am a Muslim and there is nothing Islamic about killing innocent people in Paris, San Bernardino, or anywhere else in the world”, the 73-year-old fighter said.

There was also a shocking front page of the New York Daily News that showed a cartoon of Trump beheading The Statue of Liberty. “What I would say is when it comes to religious tests for things as important as transiting borders, that that would be inconsistent with the American values that this administration is trying to uphold”. “We are not a people who react in a fearful way”.
