Fury stripped of IBF title

David Haye has accused world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury of heaping shame on his sport over his controversial comments since his upset victory over Wladimir Klitschko in Germany.

The IBF sanctioning organization did their job today in dutifully stripping their reluctant heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) of his IBF title for him failing to agree to defend the title against #1 IBF mandatory challenger Vyacheslav “Czar” Glazkov.

The SJA said: “The officers of the SJA took the decision reluctantly, since the British Sports Awards seek to recognise the year’s great sporting achievements, which include Fury’s heavyweight world title win”.

However Fury was punished after he opted to sign a re-match clause to fight Klitschko, who was world champion for 11 years, again.

He has also likened homosexuality to paedophilia, prompting an anti-discrimination campaigner to set up a petition calling for Fury to be removed from the BBC shortlist, which to date has attracted over 50,000 signatures.

The Manchester fighter has been quoted as saying a woman’s “best place is on her back” and has criticised homosexuality and abortion. “He doesn’t hate anybody”.

Trainer and uncle Peter has also had to defend the switch-hitter from a barrage of bad reporting, which has now culminated in public name-calling from a well-known BBC figure.

“Let’s not make any mistakes I don’t think gay people are like paedophiles, that’s not what I said”.

The IBF has yet to announce a date for Glazkov’s and Martin’s heavyweight championship fight. I can’t say I see the victor of this fight being a real champion.

“It seems to me that Tyson Fury has a lot to say, except when he’s in my face”.

One of them is homosexuality being legal in countries, one of them is abortion and the other is paedophilia.

The boxer wrote: “Hopefully I don’t win @BBCSPOTY as I’m not the best roll model in the world for the kids, give it to someone who would appreciate it [prayer emojis]”.

Lewis posted a reply to Fury’s comments on his Facebook page yesterday in which he denied having any cause for jealousy over Fury’s recent success and expressed his surprise at the comments having had dinner with Fury the night before his fight with Klitschko.

After the clip was played on Victoria Derbyshire’s BBC 2 show, a police spokeswoman said: “At 10:30am on Tuesday we received a report of a hate crime following comments made about homosexuality on the Victoria Derbyshire programme”.
