The online giant BuzzFeed picked up the story this morning.

The photo has since seen hundreds of thousands of views on Facebook and other social media sites like Imgur.

According to Facebook, her aunt – Liz Dolder – bought her a Christmas tree on which to hang cards.

Today, she lives with Dolder, her husband and their twins in nearby Rotterdam, New York.

Will you send Sa’fyre a card or would you like to share a message with her here?

If you would like to send Safyre Terry a Christmas card this year, please send it to P.O. Box 6126 Schenectady, NY 12306, USA.

Safyre Terry is the only member of her family to survive a devastating house fire two years ago. The blaze, which was reportedly arson, remains unsolved.

Sa’fyre spent months in a burn unit after the fire. Her right hand is amputated, and she recently had her left foot amputated, too.

“Safyre is a remarkable young lady who has been through so much”. She uses a prosthetic to walk.

“This is incredible”, she added to the Daily Gazette.

This year, she’s sending a whole lot more than she usually does.

“This year’s been magical, amazing”, said Liz Dolder, who posted a picture of her niece, Safyre Terry, on Facebook earlier this month. With more than 130,000 views, it said: “Her Christmas wish is to fill her card tree with cards from all across the world”. “Thank you Aunt Lonnie. We maybe get 10 cards a year, and the card tree holds 100”.

It wasn’t a direct appeal for cards.

Locally, the McKownville Fire Department is just one department, business or family that has taken up a collection for Sa’fyre.

“I’m sure you have no idea who I am but … your outlook on life makes me smile and your undefeatable attitude is what makes humans awesome”, says one card.
