Clinic suspect says defense wants to hide truth
“I think there’s a lot of belief that this qualifies as a form of domestic terrorism”, said Dawn Laguens, Planned Parenthood’s chief experience officer.

One hundred and seventy-nine felony charges have been filed against Robert Lewis Dear, the accused gunman behind last month’s shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado, District Attorney Dan May said on Wednesday. Numerous other people were shot, but survived.
Dear reportedly urged that his preliminary hearing and arraignment take place “as soon as possible” and even lashed out at his lawyer, Daniel King, who represented Aurora, Colorado mass murderer James Holmes, saying, “You are not my lawyer”. Family of the victims were inside courtroom when Dear shouted “I’m guilty, there’s no trial”.
The newspaper also reported that Dear announced that he was competent and told King, “you’re not my lawyer”.
During the hearing, Dear made statements about being housed without a toilet and running water, and asked for Amnesty International to contact him. Dear’s next hearing will be held on December 23, to address his mental competency. Five police officers were among the nine people wounded in the incident.
A woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly calling the Denver Planned Parenthood and telling them she was tempted to “walk into a Republican Party meeting with her dead husband’s gun and just start shooting people”, according to Fountain Police. “Can you add that to the list?”
Police have declined to discuss a potential motive in the November 27 attack, but there had been mounting evidence to suggest Dear was deeply concerned about abortion.
Fern Delise from Fountain, located south of Colorado Springs, called a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs but was rerouted to the clinic in Denver. May also said he has time to decide whether or not to seek the death penalty.
The man accused of killing three people at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado says he’s guilty and there will be no trial.

“The situation has been resolved and there’s no continuing peril to the citizens of Colorado Springs”, said Mayor John Suthers.
