Yankees get Castro from Cubs for Warren and player to be named
A person familiar with the negotiations says the contract is for $56 million. The Diamondbacks would acquire minor league left-hander Gabe Speier, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because the trade was pending approval of medical records. Zobrist grew up in Eureka, Ill., less than 150 miles away from Chicago. The Cubs, on the other hand, took pitcher Adam Warren and another player yet to be named from the Yankees.

A three-time All-Star shortstop with the Cubs, Castro slumped during the first half of 2015 and was eventually switched to second base, the position he’ll handle at Yankee Stadium.
David Banks/Getty Images Castro strengthens the Yankees up the middle. He batted. 303 with two home runs, six RBIs, 15 runs scored and one stolen base as the team’s No. 2 hitter throughout the postseason.
The Yankees’ newest addition and new second baseman up until last August was a career shortstop.
He also vigorously defended Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman, who was accused of choking his girlfriend and shooting a gun during an incident in October.

“That was a really tough moment for me, ” Castro said of being briefly benched, after being used to playing 150-plus games per season. The Yankees are getting younger and making that splash in the free agency pool is not the agenda.
“I’m certain there’s going to be the right mentor within that clubhouse that can help him out”.
Ben Zobrist is considered a special player when on the field.
The Davie (Fla.) Police Department released its report on the October 30 incident Tuesday. But the matter appears to have put on hold a proposed trade sending Chapman to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
“All of a sudden his offense settled in and he started driving the ball again”, Maddon said.
