President Obama’s rare Oval Office speech to a rattled nation Sunday night, coming on the heels of last month’s attacks in Paris, underscored the gravity of the problem and how seriously it threatens both his own authority and the nation’s core values. Still, he chided Obama’s planning for lacking “the intensity that’s necessary”.
“We would never ask any other faith community to stand up and condemn acts of violence committed by people within their groups”, said Palestinian-American activist Linda Sarsour, who has worked extensively with the Black Lives Matter movement and other minority groups. Who is confident that Hillary Clinton would not do so? ISIS would continue to recruit members, and the US would have to call on its allies to join together for…what?
That’s why, as a nation, we must not give in to the urge to give away our basic liberties for momentary security. Perhaps the USA should keep in mind the bloodshed that has occurred, but focus more on the reasons why ISIS is so upset.

Defense Secretary Ash Carter said the expeditionary force would be more than 50 but would not be more specific.

“It’s a huge decision if you’re going to deploy any forces in any way”. That plays into the Islamic State’s hands, the president said. He promised in an earlier radio interview to “carpet-bomb them into oblivion”.
“Also, remember that one of the largest contingencies within ISIS are the Saudis”. Over time, through mismanagement and corruption, weapons went missing and fell into the wrong hands, helping feed into the forces that are now the Islamic State today.
Obama rejects the idea of sending combat troops, stating that the move would only help ISIS recruit.
The senators say strategy must include recapturing Ramadi, Fallujah and Mosul in Iraq. Between 2011 and 2013, the US signed billions of dollars’ worth of contracts for tanks, F16 fighter aircraft, Stinger shoulder held units and Hawk anti-aircraft batteries. This is, of course, more of the same disastrous policy of the Obama administration that has created the current catastrophe.
“The attitude has to be different”, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Monday. “As Commander-in-Chief, I have no greater responsibility than the security of the American people”, he continued. “During this period, illicit markets flourished, as did covert supplies from Iran, making arms and ammunition readily available to armed groups operating in Iraq”.
