Mandy Moore: Ex-Husband Should Pay Spousal, Pet Care Support

After a five-year marriage that had the public exhaling “oohs” and “awws”, Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore are in the middle of negotiating the terms of their divorce, which involves not only the run-of-the-mill financial compromises, but the care of their brood of eight pets. Adams has offered to take custody of two of the cats (and split up the family?!), but has yet to do so.

Mandy Moore is having a very messy divorce from husband Ryan Adams. “It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for the media to respect their privacy at this time”. ‘Though I really like our pets, it’s overwhelming for me to care for eight of them all the time, ‘ the actress states in courtroom papers.

According to PEOPLE, documents report that despite a lucrative film and music career of her own, Moore’s annual income amounts to only a quarter of Adams’, so she’s asking for spousal support to help pay for her living expenses.

Moore says Adams has not helped take care of or pay for their eight cats and dogs since the couple’s January split and that she is “unable to carry the expenses of their home, their eight pets and this litigation without Ryan’s financial assistance”. People revealed that there were situations where in the star had to cancel work appointments because nobody stays with their pets while she is away.

Nearly a year later, however, the seemingly amicable divorce is still outstanding because the pair reportedly can’t reach an agreement on spousal support or dividing up their pets. She lists more than $335,000 in assets.
