Nitish meets Modi for the first time after Bihar election win

Nitish Kumar made the promise on the issues during campaigning for the 2015 Bihar assembly elections.

After leading the “grand alliance” to a spectacular victory in Bihar Assembly polls in a virtual one-on-one battle with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today met him in Delhi.

No sooner was a message about the day marking the anniversary of adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations was read out by Chairman Hamid Ansari, Congress members stormed the Well shouting slogans like “Modi teri tanashahi nahi chalegi (authoritarianism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be tolerated)”.

Yadav also agreed that the monitoring committee is necessary for the proper functioning and timely completion of the schemes mentioned in the package.

Asked whether he would play a role in other state elections after Bihar success, he said, “I am doing my work in Bihar after the elections”.

Imploring the NDA government at the Centre for implementation of the package, he said that it should not only remain on paper, but must be seen on ground.

He said that his government will launch specific programmes to boost agrarian development, human resources development, health, education, welfare programmes and road and electricity infrastructure in order to build a developed Bihar in a time-bound manner.

He said the state government would impart computer education and communication skills, including spoken English, to all youth in the state. Other political parties are there in other states. We are in favour of GST bill, ” Mr Kumar said.
