India never accepted that queen not answerable to law: Jaitley
Parliament proceedings were disrupted for second day over high court summons issued to Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald newspaper case.

“No one is above the law”.
The philosophy of Narendra Modi-led government is minimum government and maximum governance, he said, adding the government believes in cooperative federalism. By disrupting democracy the financial web created by the Congress leaders can not be undone. “They have to (now) find their own exit route out of the “chakravyuh”, Jaitley said. The answer to the Congress party leadership landing up in a “chakravyuh” is to fight their battle legally and not disrupt parliament. Its members charged the government with “vendetta politics”, while Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the government was willing to “all issues”.
“They have acquired properties worth huge amounts without spending anything”. They said these overlapped with the provisions of the Lokpal Act. They have transferred incomes of a political party to a real estate company. “They have created huge taxable income in favour of the real estate company”, the minister said. Dismissing the allegation, Leader of the House and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said his government has not taken any action against the opposition leaders.
Along with the Gandhis, five other accused – Suman Dubey, Moti Lal Vohra, Oscar Fernandez, Sam Pitroda and Young India Ltd – had challenged the summons issued to them by a trial court on a complaint by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy against them for alleged cheating and misappropriation of funds in taking control of the now-defunct daily. He said the income tax authorities would follow their own procedure.
The goods and services tax (GST) Constitution amendment Bill is likely to be listed for discussion in the not before December 14, which would leave the government with eight days of the winter session to get the key tax reform passed by the Upper House and subsequently the amended Bill by the Lok Sabha before the session ends on December 23. “Then why disturb Parliament and prevent legislative activities from continuing?” “But when Congress is saying so it must have some meaning, otherwise why the party will say so?” he said here when asked about Congress’ protests over the National Herald case.
In the Facebook post titled “Why The Congress is Wrong”, Jaitley termed the party’s charge of political vendetta as “Goebbelsian propaganda”. The Congress is, therefore, crying foul and calling it political vendetta.

Jaitley defended Swamy, saying he had complained about the Herald case as a regular citizen in 2012. Is that a charge against the courts?
