Hammers boss Slaven Bilic made the decision after star defender Winston Reid was injured at the training ground on Wednesday to add to the squad’s injury woes.

“We will be training at Rush Green from Monday”, said Bilic.

They’re also facing the prospect of losing winger Victor Moses as they wait on the results of a scan on a potential hamstring issue, while their current player of the season Dimitri Payet is expected to be out until well into the new year.

The Hammers have been rocked by injuries to six key players in just over a month which threaten to derail their fine start to the season. “We can live without the great dressing room, kitchens, free area”.

Reid missed nearly three months at the start of the season because of a hip injury and will now miss more time with the latest ailment.

He said in his pre-match press conference ahead of Stoke’s visit on Saturday: “I said four weeks ago that I was quite happy and we’d only sign a player if an exceptional one became available, or if someone goes, then we would have to replace them. It has nothing to do with the groundsmen or the medical staff – it’s just the way the ground is here”.

The plan is for West Ham to train at least a couple of days a week at the Rush Green Road
facility, while also doing some sessions at Chadwell Heath, which has been the first-team training ground for over 50 years. He’ll definitely be out of the Stoke game and a few more games.

Calleri has notched 21 goals in 53 games for Boca Juniors, and West Ham will face a battle to get hold of the player should a bidding war break out between the numerous clubs interested in the player. “It was like literally training on a road for two hours every day. I told him what I would like to do and he agreed with me”.

“People will say “Premier League pitches are the same now, so get on with it”.
