“Police were up on the balcony opposite it and shouted for me to move”.
Armed officers stormed the sixth floor after receiving reports a man with a gun was threatening to shoot someone, and a non-police firearm was later recovered.
Janice Gosney, 60, a mum-of-two who lives opposite the shooting, said: “I heard shouting, a lot of shouting and I heard them shout, “Get down”.
A 30-year-old and a 19-year-old were held in the Bracknell Close area, while a 31-year-old and a 25-year-old were detained in nearby Barratt Avenue.
It has not been revealed whether the man was shot by police.
London police have shot dead a man during an “intelligence-led” operation in the northern part of the British capital.
The Directorate of Professional Standards – the Metropolitan Police’s internal investigator – has been informed of the incident and investigators from the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) are also at the incident.
“He came out shooting and police shot him with two bullets in the chest”.
A white forensics tent was erected near an ambulance in the residential street and plain clothes officers were seen with evidence bags, as were balaclava-clad armed officers and 4×4 vehicles with blacked-out number plates.
