Anonymous targets Donald Trump after banning Muslims comment

Anonymous have declared a cyber war against Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, over his anti-Muslim hate speech.

“It has come to our attention that you want to ban all Muslims to enter the United States. The more Muslims feel sad the more ISIS feels they can recruit them”, a masked member of the group said in a recent video.

In a video, posted on YouTube late on Wednesday, the group says that it is warning Donald Trump to end anti-Muslim rhetoric.

He said Mr Trump “has a history of prejudice towards minority groups including disabled groups”, adding that “such language and policies have no place in the 21st century”.

Trump’s comments surrounding Muslims have garnered harsh criticism from many, including the White House.

The hackers claim to have almost brought down Trump’s www.TrumpTowerNY.com website this week using ‘distributed denial of service, ‘ which normally crashes a website by overloading it with traffic, according to Yahoo!

An Anonymous-associated Twitter account said on Friday that the group had taken down the website for New York City’s Trump Towers as a “statement against racism and hatred”. However, the website now appears to be back up and in working order. Some media reports suggest the site was down for around an hour, with the #OpTrump hashtag now being used to promote Anonymous’ anti-Trump campaign online.

Both videos sign off with the signature phrase of the hacktivist group. “You have been warned”. We do not forgive. Just last month they released information on alleged Ku Klux Klan members.
