The next Republican debate is on Tuesday, and the next Democratic debate is on 19 December. “I do think we don’t have the right approach to it. We do need to reach out to responsible gun owners and say we can do more to prevent as many deaths as possible”.

Despite the backlash Trump’s divisive rhetoric seems to have struck a chord with Republican voters.
During one of ex-Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s first visits to New Hampshire, he promised to “share my heart”. “We’re never getting those guns back”.
In recent months, though, chest-thumping has been the order of the day for Republicans. And Bush has traded love for mild vulgarity.
