Suspect Robert Dear has outbursts at hearing

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – The man accused of killing three people in an attack on a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic defied his own defense attorney in court, declaring himself a “warrior for the babies” who would not be silenced by the lawyer tasked with potentially saving his life.

On a day on which prosecutors filed 179 felony charges against him, Dear made his first public comments in the case – in 17 outbursts during the proceedings.

Soon afterwards he stated “You’ll never know the amount of blood I saw in that place”. That’s what they want to seal. Planned Parenthood and my lawyer are in cahoots to shut me up.

“I’m guilty”, he blurted out at this week’s hearing, although he hasn’t formally entered a plea. Dear had allegedly spoke of “baby parts” upon his arrest, leading many to believe that his motivation for attacking the reproductive health clinic was tied to the release of several deceptive and surreptitiously-recorded videos by the anti-abortion group Center for Medical Progress (CMP) this summer.

The man accused of committing a deadly mass shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado said he is guilty and a “warrior for the babies”.

“What he did is domestic terrorism, and what he did is absolutely abominable – especially to us in the pro-life movement, because there’s nothing about any of us that would condone or in any way look the other way on something like this”, Huckabee said.

He showed no remorse as he shouted, “Protect babies!”

O’Donnell then played another clip where Dear insisted that his lawyer and Planned Parenthood were working together against him.

About 53 percent of respondents in the Robert Morris University (RMU) poll say they support the plan to defund Planned Parenthood, including a surprising 42 percent of Democrats.

Those who know Dear say he is extremely evangelistic, obsessed with the world coming to an end, and believes Christ’s forgiveness is a license to kill.

“The police realize you have to be aggressive to intervene and not let a perpetrator have free reign in there and wind up killing as many people as possible”, he said.

The three people who were killed in the attack were Ke’Arre Stewart, Jennifer Markovsky and Garrett Swasey. Five police officers were among the nine people wounded in the incident. If he is convicted of the charge, he could be sentenced to death.
