A Palestinian gunman fired shots toward Israeli security forces at the Gilboa (Jamale) crossing between the northern West Bank and Israel on Friday.

Speaking from the Gaza Strip, Ramy Abdu, the chairman of the Geneva-based Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, said that by using live fire on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Israelis continued their “policy of using something beyond excessive force” to kill Palestinians who pose no threat to soldiers.

Irshaid’s 17-year-old sister Dania was killed six weeks ago after attempting to stab security forces, according to Israeli police. The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the assailant as Issa Hroub, 55, from the nearby village of Deir Samet.

Dozens of people were injured in the clashes according to medical sources.

The first attack took place in the center of the flashpoint city of Hebron, where one victim was seriously injured and another slightly hurt, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.

In the besieged Gaza Strip, violent clashes broke out between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli soldiers, who opened fire and killed a 41-year-old man.

An Israeli army spokesperson did not have any immediate information on clashes in the area.

Israel blames incitement by political and religious leaders for the violence.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said that 85% of Palestinians who were killed by Israeli troops since the beginning of unrest in early October were “extra-judicially executed”. The suspect was identified by the military as Mahmad Abd El Halim Abd El Hamid Salam.

Since mid-September, at least 112 Palestinians and 19 Israelis have died in the conflict.

More than half of the Palestinians killed have been alleged attackers.
