“This agreement will bring the automotive enterprise to North Las Vegas”. Nevada edged out California, Georgia, and Louisiana for the project. Negotiations with Nevada politicians are on tap.

The state also is promising to build a flyover exit from U.S. Highway 93 into the Faraday campus and widen the highway for about five miles, a project expected to cost between $45 million and $50 million.

The factory would cement a turnaround for North Las Vegas, which was one of the country’s fastest-growing cities in the 2000s before the housing-market collapse almost pushed it into insolvency.

Faraday Future wants to bring a vehicle to the market as early as 2017.

Jia Yueting, aged 42, is founder and CEO of Leshi Information & Technology Beijing, also known as LeshiTV, which is one of China’s most popular online video sites. He styles himself after Apple’s late Steve Jobs. Last year, the Legislature did so to secure a massive battery factory by another upstart electric carmaker, Tesla Motors.

Faraday Future is ready to invest $1 billion into the first phase of this facility, including a 3 million square foot workshop.

The company would receive a complete sales tax rebate for 15 years, compared with Tesla’s 20-year term.

“Our search evaluated locations across the USA and Mexico, taking a balanced view of numerous economic, non-economic and timing considerations to support Faraday Future’s goal to find the optimal location to launch its brand and production”, added Mace. The project would widen the road and build a flyover entrance ramp to the park at a cost of $50 million.

A total of 4,500 new jobs will be created.
