Adele prevents Coldplay from scoring number 1 album; Fleur East debut disappointing!
Coldplay delivered their latest record A Head Full of Dreams last week, and last night (December 7) Chris Martin and the gang celebrated the release with an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

It’s a mirror image of the United Kingdom charts this week where Adele’s 25 blocked A Head Full of Dreams from a local #1. According to the Official Charts Company, this is 2,000 more than Adele has sold of 25 over the past week meaning Coldplay are on course to end her reign at the top of the charts. Coldplay’s last album, 2014’s Ghost Stories, was similarly not placed on Spotify until four months after its initial release, making the one week delay for A Head Full of Dreams pale in comparison.
Elsewhere in the chart, at number three is Elvis Presley’s If I Can Dream, celebrating its sixth week on the chart.
“In terms of new entries this week, Fleur East’s debut album Love, Sax, and Flashbacks” has disappointingly debuted at number 14, whilst Kylie Minogue’s Christmas album jumps 18 places.
The track, which features vocals from Bryn Christopher, follows Easy Love, which hit Number 1 back in September.
There really is no budging Adele’s “25” as today it spends its third week at the top of the charts are selling a whopping 354,000 copies this week alone.

The track, co-written by Ed Sheeran, notched up combined sales of 114,000 and fended off strong competition from Bieber’s own track Sorry, which holds at Number 2. Sweet Lovin’ – Sigala 3. You Don’t Own Me – Grace ft G-Eazy 5.
