“He has given me hope about the future, about what America can be like”.

Many say the populist insane talk is typical of the White House primaries, but Republican frontrunner Donald Trump’s increasingly incendiary remarks are leading some conservatives to brand him a “fascist” and party rivals to ramp up attacks against him.

The meeting came after some controversy: The Trump campaign had initially sent out a media advisory that claimed a coalition of 100 African American Evangelical pastors and religious leaders would endorse Trump.

“I do not remember that, and so it’s not something that was part of my recollection”, Christie said on November 22 after describing how 9/11 was a “harrowing day” for him personally. Bush went on to say that Trump “doesn’t know what he’s talking about and he’s not a serious leader”.

‘We did have some celebrating, that is true, ‘ Giuliani said this morning on CNN’s New Day. However, many within the Hispanic community have been put off by Trump’s stance on immigration and earlier remarks widely seen as demeaning Mexicans and Latinos in general.

But some of Trump’s loudest ovations – from a crowd that included at least a few supporters wearing Confederate regalia – came as he touted the same positions that prompted concern from some of the pastors he’d met with hours before. “But it was such a good meeting, we thought we would do that, and we had many, many endorsements coming out of the meeting”. “You start apologizing, you’ve got to keep apologizing, ‘” said Mullings who added that Trump didn’t look like he planned to apologize anytime soon.

Scott noted that while he’s endorsing Trump, other pastors were meeting him for the first time.

When Roland Martin of NewsOne Now, interviewed Steve Parson, another black minister who was in the meeting with Trump, it seemed like Trump was short on policy and specifics.

There was no wide-ranging endorsement from the group, some of whom had said they were surprised when the gathering was advertised as such by Trump’s campaign.
