Trump postpones Israel trip
White House spokesman Josh Earnest endorsed Trump’s decision to postpone the trip to Israel and said “most people are relieved” that he would not be visiting such a sensitive region. “I said it back in 2009 and got beat up by the Left but understood by the commonsense Right, and I’ll say it again: if it saves innocent lives, ‘profile away!'” she wrote.

A poll released today by The New York Times and CBS News suggested that Trump was leading the Republican field, but that almost two-thirds of voters were frightened by the prospect of him winning the presidency. Those voters are divided nearly evenly: 38% support Trump’s proposal, while 39% oppose it.
Though it wasn’t his message of the day, Trump spoke briefly about his proposal to ban Muslims, saying that racial profiling is necessary to stop domestic terror attacks like the shooting in San Bernardino, California.
One reason for Trump’s success is a failure by the GOP to address concerns inside their voter base in rational way, says Ryan Hurl, an associate professor at the University of Toronto Scarborough. He referenced his recent comments about Muslims by comparing them to when he announced his run for presidency and promised to build a wall between the United States and Mexico.
“In India, we have equal rights for everyone and we don’t look towards communities with suspicion”, he told a Washington news conference when asked about Trump.
‘The Donald’ even claimed that police officers were afraid to go near the areas.
Mr Trump’s proposed Muslim ban made the trip politically awkward for the Israeli leader. Earnest said he was unaware of guidance provided by the State Department suggesting Trump cancel the Temple Mount visit- either for his security, or in the interests of national security.
Daigle said stories like Trump’s provide a space in the mainstream media for open discussion about Islamophobia that might not take place otherwise.
“I was watching the shows this morning and I am watching the shows tonight, and [they said], ‘Well you know, Trump has a point, the visa system is not working, ‘” Trump said. “We just can’t afford anymore to be so politically correct”. “I know why you’re not going to support me: you’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money”, Trump said. That was the prevailing mood among Trump supporters assembled for a focus group discussion in Alexandria, Va., on Wednesday.
