Chelsea striker Diego Costa has apologised for the bib-throwing incident that called into question his relationship with Jose Mourinho, but says he avoided punishment because “the dressing room loves me”.

Chelsea face losing manager Jose Mourinho in the summer after it was revealed former employers Real Madrid are keen to bring the Special One back to the Bernabeu.
Despite Chelsea’s awful run of form, the club have been very supportive of Mourinho and it remains to be seen how long the Blues hierarchy will keep faith in the 52-year old.
4 Number of goals Diego Costa has scored in 20 games this season – three in the Premier League and one in the Champions League.
Chelsea could be in the Premier League’s relegation zone by the time of their next game with Leicester on Monday.
“I think it was Florentino who decided to choose Zidane and not me”.
“Any manager keeping his job and being able improving things is not lucky”, he said.
The other strikers at the club, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao have 2 and 1 goals respectively, certainly not enough to give Chelsea that attacking threat that they have so missed this season.
“I’m always against a sacking”.
“What can I say more than obviously I feel very sorry for him. The start of the season has not been good for me – not in how I have played nor in goals”. Obviously I feel he did work that impressed last season when he got the team, and in the beginning of the season he was doing so well and showing some great qualities as a manager.

“There are things you need to control, but the bib thing was an impulse. This is quite a new tendency, especially in English football”.
