Navy missed out on playing for the AAC championship after losing to Houston two weeks ago, and head coach Ken Niumatalolo has become the number one target of BYU to become their next coach.
The Midshipmen (10-2) can hook an anchor to the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy.
ABOUT ARMY (2-9): Coach Jeff Monken hasn’t publicly named a starting quarterback for Saturday after freshman Chris Carter made his collegiate debut in a 31-21 loss to Rutgers on November 21 – the Black Knights’ fourth straight loss.
Navy beat Army 21-17 for a record 14th consecutive meeting, taking advantage of four Army miscues in the fourth quarter.
Army’s 10th touchdown reception of the season – a 39-yard, over-the-shoulder catch by Poe – provided the Black Knights with the 17-14 lead with 2:08 left in the second quarter. Reynolds also went to the air, but with less success, totaling about 50 yards and throwing two potential interceptions that were dropped by Army defenders.
The 2015 Army-Navy game takes place Saturday, Dec. 12, as the Army Black Nights meet the Navy Midshipmen at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
As far as the ways in which Niumatalolo inspires his players, the Navy coach said at halftime, with his team trailing 17-14, that the “seniors took over”.
The Army-Navy Game is one of the greatest traditions in sports, and more specifically, the postgame singing of each academy’s alma mater is an unmatched moment on an annual basis.
Army fans can at least be happy knowing that Reynolds will never suit up for Navy in this game again. Last season, Army held a powerhouse Navy team to just 17 points.
Turning pointWith both defenses clamping down in the second half, Reynolds was able to make a play and put Navy up for good. Each Navy position group had a different hand-painted helmet of a naval ship. U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter attended and watched a half with each side.
The chances kept coming, and Army finally looked like it was in business when Carter hit Tyler Campbell for a 35-yard pass with under three minutes left. “We’re going to drive these young guys and wer’e going to have some really talented sophomores and juniors”. “But in our locker room, it didn’t feel like we were the underdogs”.
According to oddsmakers from oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, Navy is the clear favorite in today’s game, as the Midshipmen are getting odds of -21.5 points against Army.
“I’m just a product of our offense”, Reynolds said.
This game usually ends the season for Army.

Navy will face Pittsburgh in the Military Bowl on December 28, but expect Niumatalolo to decide between remaining at Navy or heading to BYU well in advance of the Midshipmen’s bowl preparations – perhaps as soon as midweek.
