The Defence Ministry in Moscow has alleged that the unnamed Turkish ship failed to respond to warnings issued by the Smetlivy navy destroyer in the Aegean Sea.
Moscow said it summoned the Turkish military attache over the incident.
“In particular, our deep concerns about more Turkish provocations towards the Russian destroyer Smetlivy were conveyed”.
At 0603 GMT the Russian warship, which was at anchor, spotted a Turkish fishing boat some 1,000 metres away, the defence ministry said, adding the boat had been approaching it from the right.
He also reiterated Turkey’s position that it wanted to resolve its difficulties with Russian Federation.
“We do not favor tension, [this incident] needs to be overcome through dialogue”, he was quoted as saying by the local paper Daily Sabah.
The incident comes as relations between the two countries have become increasingly strained since Turkey shot down a Russian fighter plane near its border with Syria.
Mr Putin has called for a series of sanctions to be implemented against Turkey, and Russian tourists are now being urged not to travel there for a holiday.
