Colts’ Matt Hasselbeck finally looked like a 40-year-old quarterback

At least when Luck makes mistakes, the Colts are still capable of overcoming them. This game gave him his third 100 yard game of the 2015 season, and now he has 697 yards rushing on the season.

Usually those are the games played after December 1, and maybe this Steelers defense just changed the course of a season. Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant combined for three touchdowns and 232 yards on 12 receptions. That’s why I always encourage the young guys not to be patient, but to work while they wait, because opportunities come, and he’s a young guy who has done that and the opportunities are coming.

The spectacular performance by Antonio Brown possibly overshadows the spectacularly bad performance by Jacoby Jones, as pointed out by the PPG’s Gene Collier.

So maybe what happened 44 seconds into Steelers-Colts last night wasn’t the turning point of a game. Has anybody told Andrew Luck that you only need one kidney?

One thing is for certain and two things are for sure, this season reminds me of the year 2005 when the Steelers season began with the team trying to improve on their 15-1 record from 2004 in which they lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game at Heinz Field during the “Bellicheat” or “Spygate” era as it is more commonly known.

Just when the Colts thought they were on their way to a touchdown, Steelers outside linebacker Jarvis Jones nixed that plan. Before being removed from the game Hasselbeck was 16-26 passing with two interceptions. As a team the Colts managed just 54 yards on 18 carries.

Matt Hasselbeck threw for 169 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions before leaving in the fourth quarter because of neck and shoulder pain. Chris Boswell was 3 for 4 on field goal attempts. He led the team with 49 receiving yards, while starting wide receivers T.Y. Hilton and Andre Johnson combined to catch only five passes for 90 yards. The longest play of the night went to running back Frank Gore on a 34-yard reception. With 8:06 left in the first half the Colts had themselves a 10-6 lead. We feel like we’ve been battle-tested, so I think we’re primed and ready to play a team like this. “Such gratitude about scoring a touchdown”. The mistake the Steelers made with Archer was drafting him in the first place. But if these Steelers are to have a 2015 postseason that threatens to extend itself toward February, it’s their defense that will be responsible, not in a sense of carrying this team but in the sense of being more. Brown possibly reclaimed the job full-time after sprinting 71 yards for the fourth punt return score of his career.

Touchdown celebrations in the National Football League are amongst the most elaborate in sports.

The Steelers have scored 140 points over the past four games, an average of 35.

William Gay’s play in the slot had kept Boykin on the bench, Mike Tomlin said, but Antwon Blake and Ross Cockrell’s poor tackling in Seattle prompted the Steelers to try Gay outside to make room for Boykin in nickel packages. The final tally was one of six in the red zone, which is just good enough to get you beat.
