1 dead, 3 hurt in downtown LA hotel shooting

One person was killed and three people were injured outside the high-end Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, California.

The shooting was reported shortly before 2:30 am in the 500 block of South Flower Street near the popular hotel, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The initial altercation took place between 10th and 12th floors of the hotel over birthday party access.

While police investigated, the hotel was temporarily closed, but reopened just before 10 a.m. Sunday. She did not release the gender of the victim or have information on what prompted the shooting.

All four victims were rushed to the hospital.

Investigators were examining surveillance footage from hotel cameras in the hopes of identifying the shooter.

Last night victims’ clothes and shattered glass could be seen strewn across the sidewalk.

The hotel has 207 rooms, a rooftop pool and bar, a rooftop beer garden, a club and a restaurant.
