Two other Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in separate incidents near the West Bank city of Hebron.
Israeli police claim that the 17-year-old pulled out a knife at the Cave of Patriarchs and screamed at Israeli troops, who opened fire.
One of the worst attacks followed the unrest in Hebron, when a man was shot dead after he tried to ram into an Israeli checkpoint in his auto.
The health ministry said that the Palestinian death toll climbed to 121 since the outbreak of the current wave of violent tension between Israel and the Palestinians in the Palestinian territories early October.
More than half of the Palestinians fatalities have been alleged attackers.
Three Palestinians were shot during the clashes, one resident said. The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the man as Issa Hroub, 55, from the nearby village of Deir Samet.
About an hour beforehand, a Palestinian fired at Israeli forces at a crossing between the northern West Bank and Israel and was shot and wounded, the Israeli defence ministry said.
Dozens of people were injured in the clashes according to medical sources.
Separately, in central Ramallah, Israeli security forces raided a shop early Friday, leading to clashes between residents and soldiers, witnesses said. The suspect was identified by the military as Mahmad Abd El Halim Abd El Hamid Salam.
The anger behind a recent uptick in violence has been attributed by several observers to a July arson attack in the West Bank, by suspected Jewish settlers, that killed 18-month-old Palestinian child Ali Dawabsheh and his parents. At least 111 Palestinians have died by Israeli fire; 75 of them said by Israel to be attackers while the others died in clashes with security forces.
Islamic State will assume the moral leadership of the Arab world if Israel does not stop crushing Palestinians’ hopes of statehood, a senior official in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) said Friday. The Palestinians say the Tel Aviv regime seeks to change the status quo of the compound.
