As Cruz rises in presidential polls, Trump calls him “maniac”
And by the way, and again, I do like Ted Cruz, but not a lot of evangelicals come out of Cuba, in all fairness.

“He’s not ready to be president, he’s a first-term USA senator, we just went through that”, Christie said. No other Republican candidate gets more than 3 percent.
“You look at Paris, you look at San Bernardino, it’s given a seriousness to this race”, Cruz said at the time.
Late last week though, the mask slipped ever so slightly. And, tonally, Cruz comes across as aggressively and unapologetically conservative – a less controversial and more electable version of real estate magnate Trump.
It is not a surprise that the same state Republicans who gave Rick Santorum the win in 2012 would end their flirtation with Trump and come back to Ted Cruz. Sen.
The poll shows Cruz with 31 percent of the GOP support, and Trump with 21 percent.
And, in keeping with the schoolyard bully metaphor, it boils down to: “Nobody likes you!”
If I were Cruz, I’d politely ask The Donald to attack me even more.
Nine Republicans hopefuls meet Tuesday in the next prime-time presidential debate, with a familiar slate of candidates looking to wrangle over what to do about the threat of terrorism and who has the right temperament and judgment to lead the nation.
The two top candidates for the GOP nomination had a remarkably affable relationship before Cruz was caught on tape criticizing the media mogul’s “judgment” during a speech at a private fundraiser. Because I have a better character.
“People don’t know that about me”.
“I hear people saying, I’m worried about my job, I’m worried about our security, I’m worried about my kid’s future”.
Trump touted his ability to get along with liberals and conservatives and said that was the hallmark of the “world-class businessman” he is. “I get along with everybody…”
“No, I don’t think he does”, Trump replied.
Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace said: “What do you mean, hundreds of thousands?” “You’re never going to get things done that way”, Trump added, in an apparent reference to Cruz clashes with Democratic and Republican leaders. Look, I built a phenomenal business.
“One of the explanations I’m sitting right here and one of many causes I’m so excessive in the polls is as a result of it began with the borders”, Trump informed CNN. I have great judgment.
His message to the Republican establishment: “I’m sorry I did this to you, but you’ve got to get used to it. It’s one of the problems in life”. First, the fact that many people who know Cruz genuinely dislike him is seeping into the public consciousness, and could have an effect on how he is viewed by voters who haven’t yet made up their minds.

Trump duly turned his fire on Cruz, calling him “a little bit of a maniac” in an interview with Fox News.
