Cowboys Trail Packers at Half, 14-0
Dallas and Green Bay also met back in the 1967 NFC Championship game, dubbed as the “Ice Bowl” and the game saw two future Hall-of-Fame coaches go against each other, Tom Landry for the Cowboys and Vince Lombardi for the Packers. Totaling 148 yards of offense, Lacy was crucial in shutting the door on the Cowboys late, derailing any chance of a comeback.

The Packers defense was suffocating against the Cowboys’ passing attack. Five plays later, on a second-and-25, the Packers put the game out of reach on a 30-yard touchdown scamper by James Starks.
The Packers pounced with a brisk 81-yard touchdown drive, with Rodgers converting a third-and-5 with a 16-yard scramble before hitting Jones for 16, receiver Randall Cobb for 14 and fullback John Kuhn for 14 more.
The Cowboys ran the football well in the third quarter, en route to their lone touchdown of the day. They are all alone in first place in the NFC North, one game up on the Minnesota Vikings. They would add another touchdown with just under three minutes left in the half, on a 3-yard pass from Aaron Rodgers to Richard Rodgers. Lacy was back in the starting lineup Sunday and ran angry from the outset, carrying four times for 18 yards on the first drive and then contributing an 18-yard run and a 24-yard scamper with a screen pass on the second series. “20-17! And 13 seconds showing on the clock and the Green Bay Packers are going to be…World Champions, NFL Champions, for the third straight year!”
It took the Packers until the second quarter to begin scoring, and the team defeated the Cowboys 28-7. Dallas RB Darren McFadden had runs of 50 and 45 yards and needed only seven carries to go over 100 rushing yards….
However, Aaron Rodgers couldn’t convert a quarterback sneak on the fourth and goal at the 1/2 yard line as the Cowboys defensive front stopped him with 1:00 left in the first quarter. He said he was trying too hard at times to make a play against the Packers.
The Dallas Cowboys (4-8) are coming from a 19-16 win over the Washington Redskins. Demoted last week against the Detroit Lions for missing curfew the night before the game, Lacy responded with an impressive effort that overflowed with energy. A pass that deflected off star receiver Dez Bryant’s hands was intercepted in the end zone by Sam Shields in the first quarter.

Bryant caught only one pass on nine targets, collecting nine receiving yards on the day. It was the most rushing yards allowed by the Cowboys since Philadelphia ran for 256 yards against them on Thanksgiving last season. I’m not a guy that makes a lot of mistakes or bad things off the field either. Green Bay’s offense lacks dynamism in ways that could become a problem once it needs a big play in the postseason. Defensively, the Packers yield 245.0 yards in passing and 111.8 yards in rushing.
