Chevrolet redesigned the Malibu for 2016, and the hybrid model will be the first full-fledged Malibu gas-electric hybrid.

While the Malibu’s design and interior comfort do appear to have been improved, SlashGear did note that the new model is powered by a base 1.5-liter turbo four that makes 160 horsepower and 184 lb/ft. torque and is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Highway fuel economy for the vehicle is rated at 45mpg and 47mpg combined. The EPA has not yet released its official fuel-economy estimates.
