Planned Parenthood sues OH in dispute over fetal tissue
Indeed, in a press conference Friday, which Planned Parenthood said in a federal court filing was how it learned of the charges against it, DeWine said, “I think it will come as a shock to Ohioans to find out that fetuses are being cooked and then they’re being put in a landfill and they’re going to be mixed in with yesterday’s garbage”. Neither agency receives any state money, although Planned Parenthood nationally does receive some money through the federal portion of the Medicaid program for healthcare services not involving abortions.

Planned Parenthood says it doesn’t deny that tissue ends up in landfills but says Attorney General Mike DeWine’s report alleging wrongdoing is inflammatory.
The investigation misrepresented sanitary landfills – which are disposal facilities used by medical providers – to make them seem nefarious, Stephanie Knight, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, said in a statement.
Schaefer said the committee wasn’t asking for private health records and said Planned Parenthood could have redacted personally identifiable information from documents.
DeWine said that was a violation of state law requiring “a fetus shall be disposed of in a humane manner”.
Planned Parenthood said one of its vendors in OH canceled its contract with the organization after DeWine’s comments, but another licensed medical removal company took over the contract. “It is important the public be aware that these practices are taking place at these OH facilities”.
DeWine, a Republican, said his office, in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Health, would likely file court papers seeking an injunction ordering Planned Parenthood to dispose of fetal remains humanely.
The edited videos alleged that Planned Parenthood operations in some states may be illegally profiting from the sale of aborted fetal remains for scientific research.
