Houston’s Hoyer suffers second concussion in a month

After Sunday night’s loss to the Patriots came to an end, Texans coach Bill O’Brien said he didn’t know for sure if quarterback Brian Hoyer suffered a concussion but that “it looked that way”.

Hoyer was concussed in Week 10 during a Monday night game against the Bengals and reported during the game that he was having trouble remembering plays.

HOUSTON (AP) – Houston quarterback Brian Hoyer has suffered his second concussion in less than a month and is doubtful for Sunday’s game against Indianapolis. Hoyer was sacked five times by the Patriots and frequently attended by the Texans’ medical staff on the sideline.

In addition to being in the NFL’s concussion protocol, Hoyer is also dealing with a neck strain and wrist issue that combine to cloud his Week 15 status. “I hope he is doing alright, but I’ll be ready to play”.

Yates started earlier this year against the Jets and helped lead the Texans to a 24-17 victory. Although Hopkins has had to catch passes from three different starting quarterbacks this year, there seems to be chemistry between him and Yates, which should put fantasy owners at ease.

As a Texan, Yates played another important December game at Lucas Oil Stadium. “We have to go up there and win, that’s the number one goal, that’s the only thing that matters right now”.
