The family of a woman missing from her house in south Dublin since the weekend is appealing for the public’s help in finding her.

Eimear Delaney told independent.ie that the family are “desperately worried”. She appealed to taxi drivers and ferry passengers in particular to make contact if they think they saw the missing woman.

Breda Delaney (72) was last seen at her home at Avondale Court in the southside coastal suburb in the early hours on Saturday morning.

“My dad realised she was missing around midday and went to the guards at that stage”.

“She is described as being 1m 60cm (5” 4′) in height, of slight build with blonde/grey hair and blue eyes.

A large team of local people plus Civil Defence members from Greystones and Howth Coast Guard units joined family, friends and neighbours in checking coastal areas.

A sweep of the south Dublin coastline has been carried out in the search for the 72-year-old.
