Conor McGregor didn’t just win the UFC’s featherweight title Saturday night, he won a spot alongside Ronda Rousey on the cover of EA Sports’ “UFC 2” video game.
“Jose has been a phenomonal champion, my respect to Jose, I wish him well, and it’s on to the next chapter”, he said in his Instagram account. The Brazilian fighter had defended his belt seven times in the Octagon before UFC 194. Aldo made a mistake, and he got punished by the skill of the Dublin native.
Edgar is hopeful that he will get the nod, although McGregor has said he would be giving Aldo a rematch, as reported by the Daily Mail.
McGregor’s whole coaching staff erupted in ecstasy after the 27-year-old knocked out Aldo in 13 seconds.
The moments leading up to the fight were tense as both fighters came into the ring ready for an epic battle. This loss not only cost Aldo his title, but also marked his first setback in more than six years.
Conor McGregor is the present of UFC.
‘I think he’s (McGregor) phenomenal for our sport, there is a lot fighters could learn from him. “It’s a quick decision, and he was able to connect a good punch when I tried a combination”.
He saw UFC President Dana White come out of the cage, and they exchanged a few words. “If not, then we do Frankie Edgar, and José Aldo would fight somebody else”. White immediately penciled Homl-Rousey 2 at UFC 200 in July for a reason that “Rowdy” has done great in her MMA career.

He said: “All through the week I’m watching videos of the Irish going insane throughout Las Vegas… the Irish fans, you can’t beat them”. “Notorious” can defend his belt against new No. 1 contender Frankie Edgar, who certainly earned his shot or go up at the lightweight division to fight the victor of the Rafael Dos Anjos-Donald Cerrone title fight. This makes us stronger. “This is trending as the highest pay-per-view of all time for the UFC”, he added. “Tell me one other champion who has been like that”, he also said.
