Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Carrie Fisher nearly misses premiere

In case you’ve been hidden in a cave, the film reunites Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew and introduces to the far-away galaxy Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max Von Sydow and Gwendoline Christie. Come up with something creative and you could win a prize package.

The premiere on Monday will be followed by a global rollout taking in a dozen countries beginning Wednesday before the film officially reaches United States theaters Friday. He continued: I have seen the film ten times, but never with other people. “I thought J.J. did an incredible job”.

Much to the delight of legions of fans, the beloved veterans return in the new installment – which picks up 30 years after the events of 1983’s “Return of the Jedi”.

The Empire and Rebels sieged four blocks in Hollywood on December 14 for the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” red carpet event.

Director JJ Abrams, speaking to the crowd before the film, said: “It can’t be said enough – not almost enough – that none of us would be here tonight without the miraculous creation of one man”. “George Lucas, from the bottom of my heart, and behalf of everyone involved with ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens, ‘ thank you, sir”. The soccerball-esque droid has been a popular fixture in trailers for the seventh “Star Wars” film, and it was soon joined by series mainstays C-3PO and R2-D2.

Police dogs checked areas adjacent to the massive tent shrouding the red carpet, and pedestrians in the area had to go through metal detectors. A few showed their love for “Star Wars” by coming in costume: Joseph Gordon-Levitt was dressed as Yoda, complete with a painted green face, while Rainn Wilson wore Jedi robes.

“Now we have to live up to what the first films delivered, ” said Harrison Ford, who is returning to his role as Han Solo.

“I for one am very excited that it’s not in Lucas’ hands any more”, says “Star Wars” fan Corry Brown, co-owner of Zapp Comics in Wayne, echoing what many hard-core fans have said online. As a goodwill gesture, a number of fans who have already spent days waiting in line in front of the Chinese Theatre to see the film when it opens were also invited in to the premiere.

Elizabeth Banks arrives at the world premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. It’s good to know that the rest of us will have the opportunity to see it by the week’s end, as well.
