Mourinho should stay but changes needed, says Lampard
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard feels under-fire manager Jose Mourinho is right to criticise his players, and believes too many of them are underperforming.

Chelsea suffered their ninth Premier League defeat of the season at Leicester City yesterday and slumped to 16th place in the table, a point above the relegation zone, raising fresh speculation about Mourinho’s future.
Metro reported that Real is preparing a £75 million bid for Hazard, who was the Premier League Player of the Season and Chelsea Players’ Player of the Year awardee in 2014-2015.
When asked if the manager needed to change, Lampard replied: “That’s only one man’s decision, and that will be Roman Abramovich”.
The post mortem on Chelsea’s title collapse will rumble on in the next few days and none of us will be surprised if the news drops to confirm Mourinho’s departure before their next match against Sunderland on Saturday, with this latest setback the latest unfathomable entry into their fall from grace. He continued, “You get the feeling it’s about to come but the longer the wait you begin to wonder and Chelsea need Hazard to play well”.
“Chelsea on a bad year should be top six”.
“Frankie Lampard said after the game last night he doesn’t believe there’s a problem between the players and the manager, but there has to be”, he said.
“I don’t know how many times you can do that, even though we had some good results doing that before, but we had a different set of players at that point”.
It remains to be seen however if Chelsea will allow the player move in the January transfer window or force him to stay till the summer when the season will have ended. That he has failed to get Chelsea out of the hole he has helped to put them in is clearly a blot on his copybook, but let’s not forget what this two-time Champions League winning boss has done before.
