Tyson Fury will not face police action over “hate incident” sparked by

Labour’s Chuka Umunna has called for the BBC to drop the nomination of boxer Tyson Fury for Sports Personality of the Year, saying he believed there would not be similar tolerance of a candidate if they were racist, rather than sexist or homophobic.

Greater Manchester Police has also confirmed that it is investigating hate crime allegations against the boxer.

But the force said that while the comments had been recorded as a “hate incident”, it was taking no further action against the 27-year-old after interviewing the complainant.

Over 130,000 people have signed a petition calling for Fury to be removed from the shortlist for the BBC’s prestigious Sports Personality of the Year award.

“Jesus loves me and he loves you too… and he loves everybody in the world”, he added, smiling, as he leant out of the window of a van.

“My worry is if this is allowed to carry on, at best it amounts to turning a blind eye to the things he has said and the offence that he has caused, and at worst it could be interpreted as condoning it. I don’t think that that is right”.

West vented his anger over Fury’s attempt to link homosexuality to paedophilia during an interview, by posting a message stating that he was ashamed to work for the corporation.

“I can actually say that I have no hate for anybody”.

“I haven’t any enemies, I don’t hate any race, colour, creed, generation, nobody”.

Despite the fact that Klitschko had successfully defended the belt 18 times prior to his fight with Tyson Fury, the IBF felt that it made more sense to give unbeaten (and some would say unproven) heavyweight Vyacheslav Glazkov a shot before letting Klitschko exercise his mandatory rematch clause.

Fury, a committed Christian who often refers to his faith, has faced a barrage of criticism over his personal views since he stunned Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBA, IBF and WBO belts last month.

“We’ve got Jamaicans in there, we’ve got Pakistanis in there, we’ve got Indians in there; Christians, Muslims, we’re all united”. Why don’t they broadcast that?

“I love all of God’s children, we are all God’s children”.

Jessica Ennis-Hill has dusted off the sexist comments made by Tyson Fury about her appearance, as she busily prepares for the upcoming Sports Personality of the Year awards.
