New Poll Shows how Republicans Fare Against Hillary Clinton
On the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Clinton was viewed favorably by 80 percent of Democratic registered voters and unfavorably by just 14 percent. But a different poll, from the Des Moines Register and Bloomberg, shows Sen. Together they command more than half of the total support. Marco Rubio is third at 15%.

But Carson is now in fourth at 11 percent (down 18 points) – and much of his support has transferred to Cruz. Carson has had the most dramatic decline in the series this year, even more dramatic than Jeb Bush’s decline over the summer. No other candidate was seen as able to win a general election by more than 45 percent of all Americans. Although 58 percent of Republican registered voters rated him favorably, the 38 percent who gave him an unfavorable rating were among the highest for the Republican field.
This is all to say Ted Cruz has a path to the nomination that runs through Iowa and SC and could carry through the Southern primaries on Super Tuesday.
In an interview with NPR last week, Cruz was asked about the proposed Muslim ban and simply said, “I disagree with Donald on that”. Reporter: But trump not laughing offer the audio of Cruz speaking behind closed doors with donors surfaced, questioning if trump was fit to be commander in chief. Anderson conducts the Fox News Poll along with Republican pollster Daron Shaw. Former Iowa caucus winners Mike Huckabee (2008) and Rick Santorum (2012) were both socially conservative Republicans with establishment bona fides and lots of evangelical support. He would get 47 percent of the vote in a hypothetical matchup, compared to Clinton’s 46 percent. “I don’t believe either one of them is going to be our president”. Trump’s numbers have grown since October despite, or because of, some of the more outrageous statements he’s made since August. Among the crazies the position is less clear, but first place, having for some time been held by fundamentalist neurosurgeon Ben Carson, has now fallen to Texas “tea party” senator Ted Cruz.
Here’s a look at how some of the top candidates are previewing their approaches to key issues ahead of the debates. Who can best handle those? On Saturday, however, a Cruz-aligned super PAC, Keep the Promise, hit Trump. No one else makes it into double-digits.
“He’s not ready to be president, he’s a first-term USA senator, we just went through that”, Christie said.
Trump touted his ability to get along with liberals and conservatives and said that was the hallmark of the “world-class businessman” he is.
Iowa GOPers are looking for a candidate who is a strong leader (25 percent) and honest and trustworthy (22 percent). By contrast, 75 percent of Democrats and 55 percent of independents – members of neither major USA political party – said they oppose Trump’s call for a ban on all Muslim visitors.

A race between Clinton and Cruz would be closer, with Clinton winning 48 percent to 45 percent. You’re never going to get things done that way. Parker says she wishes others in the GOP field would stop talking about Trump and start talking more about what they would do if elected.
