TTC spokesman Brad Ross said a German shepherd became stuck under the electrified third rail in a tunnel just south of the station.

A dog who had become trapped underneath the rails at Davisville station this afternoon has now been rescued. The TTC later said the dog is in serious condition.

The dog’s owner was at the scene when TTC special constables carried the animal out of a tunnel on a stretcher.

Yonge line subway service was set to return to regular service around 3:45 p.m. She said they were able to re-connect Katie with her owner quickly because of this call.

Because of the incident, Yonge subway trains headed north to Finch Station were turning back at Bloor, while southbound service was returning to Finch upon reaching Eglinton Station.
